A Weekend in Prickly Green part 2

Part of that first weekend in June in PG,  we were up on the Sunday and ready to go at 09.00hrs.  I thought we would be too tired but we were off for breakfast!     http://www.cobhouse.org/mayFly.asp
We had a full English breakfast in a beautiful setting, not good for the neighbours apparently but good for business.  There are animals on site eg Llamas and sometimes Bouncy castles etc so it can get quite noisy at times.

After all that food I thought maybe we would be too full for work but not so, I think the Barn Dance had given us all a good appetite. So off we went to the new house...............
The house itself is a tidy three bedroom house with two reception but N & G had gutted the whole place, moved a few walls around upstairs to make three equal size bedrooms.  When they have finished the house will be let to four students, hopefully 2nd years.  The garden was quite overgrown and provided quite a challenge which, of course, we relished!

We forgot to take the before photos until we were half way through so this is the view from the house of the righthand border

We stopped for lunch which was a picnic inside - I just love doing things this way, felt like being part of a family - all sitting round on various seats and a plank of wood for a table!!

Then back to work - all the weeds in the paving were weedkilled and we have promised to go back at the beginning of July to finish the garden.  They were amazed at what we had done so we still don't know what they expected...........

I have a cutting of this plant, which I have looked up on the web, as H and I thought it was a shrimp plant, but it is a Leycandrii which means that it is hardy!!

So back to the H & G's house and a wash and brush up.  We packed our things and H & G fetched Doris (G's mam who was 98) and we all had a barbecue ........... inside I'm afraid ....... and sat around the table chatting.  It was 22.00hrs when we left but what a wonderful weekend and we did it all again in July - wonderful!
I don't think that family realises how kind they all are, sharing and chatting ............ soooo loverly.  H does some fantastic bead work, makes cakes and cards as well.  I had intended to take some card materials over with me but we forgot so when we went the next time we took most of PJs beading stuff.
