Martley Village Fete

What a superb day we have had!!!!

I did not think it would be so good as we were up until 02.00hrs labelling spice pots!!!  This morning we were out of bed and price labelling Card Embellishment Packs!!!
We were off to Martley Village Fete and were taking a stall, hopefully to sell a few more spices and some of my card stash. 
It rained on the way there and, although we were late getting there, thanks to road works, sunday drivers etc., the gent on the gate was pleased to see us.  Our place was all pegged out so 'up with the gazebo' and out with the spices.  Just like old times but not as much stock.

The WI  Tent (Women's Institute - every village has to have one!) was down the centre of the stalls.  It felt good to visit and chat with several of the ladies there.  They were showing quilting and quilling as well as selling their produce.  They asked me to join but I thought it a bit too far to come!  They were shocked when they found out I lived in Birmingham.

There was an arena with various entertainments showing thoughout the afternoon.  We were one stall away so managed to see them all - the belly dancers I could do without.  The Zumba dancers made me feel as though I was back in Brum with the bankra music.  There were several other entertainments and also  ......... what I would call 'Blue Grass Mountain' dancing, a bit like June Carter-Cash used to do.  Fantastic!

The sun came out after about an hour and it was gorgeous but soooo hot ......... memo to self - do not complain about heat .. or sun........winter comes soon enough.

We did not sell an awful lot of my stash but PJ managed to sell some more spices and we covered the cost of our diesel .......... and of course .............McDs for tea!!  no not really - just an apple pie and a free coffee!
Came home shattered, hot, sweaty glowing and thirsty, so after several cups of tea/coffe we managed to unload the car and relax.
What a brill day!!!!
Tomorrow I will tell you about our trip to Buck House - oh! yes! I have managed to type it up and get it all ready.
